The initial excitement of an engagement can quickly turn into an overwhelming planning process. There are so many decisions to be made, items to be found, and questions to be answered. From custom invitations, to venues, cakes, and so much more, there is a great deal to consider when planning the perfect wedding day.
The first, and perhaps most important choice to be made, is where the wedding location will be. This could be influenced by many factors, including the amount of guests that you plan to invite, what kind of budget you will be working with, and the time of year that you want to hold the event. Destination weddings to warm locales are popular, especially during the colder months. An all inclusive package would be ideal for those working with a tight budget.
Once you have decided where you will hold the wedding, you can start working on the guest list. If you opt for a destination wedding, you may have to limit the number of guests that you can invite. You also have to expect that some people you invite will not be able to attend, simply because of an inability to travel to the destination.
Setting the date is important to do early. Many venues are booked up months, or even a year in advance. Decide where you would like to hold the ceremony and the reception. You may choose separate locations for each, and if you do, you need to coordinate it properly so that guests have time to get from one location to the next.
Choosing a color scheme or a theme for the big day can be a lot of fun. The bride and groom get to create a look that reflects their personal style and taste. Inspiration can come from many places. There really are no limits to what you can choose, in terms of colors, decorations, flowers, favors, and more. This is your special day, so make it a reflection of your style as a couple.
No matter how intimate or large of an event you are planning for your wedding, you want to be sure that you are happy with the final outcome. Take charge of the decision making, but do not be afraid to accept help or hire a wedding planner to coordinate the details. All of the elements will come together to create a special day that you will never forget.
